Uglies! What's not to love!!! Everything is always fresh and delicious. Also love the chocolate, blueberry, and strawberry donuts.

This is not just the quintessential old fashioned donut shoppe of Jacksonville.. it's also hands down THE BEST! Established in 1962, this place is an institution here in JAX. That means, no they do not accept credit cards.. CASH ONLY.. yes there is an ATM in case you forget. Is forgetting still worth it sometimes? Yes it is! As you step into the shoppe you'll really feel the old school charm of this place. One of the many amazing staff members will gladly help you with your donut needs. My favorites are the devils food, blueberry cake, and uglies (apple fritter). If you're lucky sometimes the uglies are still warm! Highly Recommended!

Simply the best! We loved every single one. Got a half dozen donuts and of course an Apple fritter. We were in Jacksonville for vacation and can't wait to come back to Florida to get more of these donuts. The service was fast and friendly :)

If their were 10 Stars I'd vote 10 stars! Hands down the best glaze donuts in Jacksonville. Don't believe me then go try them! But just in case if you don't just like glaze donuts please try their Blue berry donut, you will not be disappointed. Also try their donut holes and honorable mention for me is their Apple fritter. I will tell you go early because they sellout fast and you'll be disappointed they ran out of all the good stuff! Also bring cash because they are only cash only. But if you do forget they have an ATM available to take out money. I normally go into detail of how fabulous a place is that I love to go to and enjoy their food but this place is a MUST go and try yourself. I promise you that you will probably thank me!

Apple Fritters - did I say Apple Fritters???? Well, they call them uglies. But that's okay - They are delightful, plump, fruit filled deliciousness. I can't honestly say what anything else tastes like here as I'm addicted to the uglies, but the donuts I took home for others to share were gobbled up immediately, so there's that!

The Donut Shoppe is a great choice for old school donuts. The ambiance is pretty straightforward, but it is a donut shop (hence the business name of the Donut Shoppe) and most people are more concerned about the donuts than sitting in some upscale place. The staff was friendly enough and the donuts were a definite good choice for a sugary breakfast or snack. All in all, the Donut Shoppe is a great choice and I would definitely recommend this particular establishment.

READ THIS REVIEW------ Absolutely the best glazed donuts in town. Very light compared to any place else. Good layer of icing with a very slight hint of orange - it really worked! I also tried the blueberry and strawberry cake donuts. They were 50% lighter than anything I've had before. Flavors were perfect and really nice. They sell out fast - go early. I missed the apple fritters, but the photos look great. I'm going back for that for sure!!! Note: cash only! There is an ATM, but it's used a lot. Bring cash.

I've been coming here for over 20 years and it's still a favorite. The flavors and the recipes through the years have stayed consistent. Had an ugly (apple fritter) today--and it remains #1 on my list. The dough was moist and soft, and all the bits of crunchy ends are so heavenly. Bought a dozen for the family and they devoured it. Service is quick and the donuts fly off the shelves. We will continue to be life long customers. Don't forget your cash! They don't accept cards.
